Dec. 23 — President of the Senate receives electoral vote certificates
Pence must receive the formal electoral vote certificates no later than nine days after electors meet.
Jan. 6 — Congress counts electoral votes
The House and Senate convene for a joint session on Jan. 6 to count electoral votes. Pence presides over the process as president of the Senate and announces the results. The candidate that receives at least 270 out of 538 electoral votes becomes the next president. Any objections to the electoral votes must be submitted in writing and signed by at least one House and one Senate member. If an objection arises, the two chambers consider the objection separately.
Jan. 20 — Inauguration Day
The president-elect and vice president-elect are sworn into office and officially become the president and vice president of the United States on Inauguration Day.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette issued a prohibition order designed to reduce the risks that entities associated with the People’s Republic of China pose to the Nation’s bulk-power system (BPS).
The U.S. electric system has become increasingly dependent on CCP suppliers for essential items, including software components that can easily be hacked. A cyber attack on the power grid could cause widespread power outages and even cost lives.
The Energy Department’s order stops utilities that supply critical defense facilities from buying from the China, certain power grid equipment that poses a risk to the system.

Swalwell has yet to explain nature of past relationship with Christine Fang
Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., extended his ongoing silence over the nature of his past relationship with a suspected Chinese spy. Fox News caught up with Swalwell outside his home Thursday and he ignored all questions, including one about Fang. According to the Axios report, Fang and Swalwell had been linked since his days as a Dublin City, Calif. council, prior to his election to Congress in 2012. According to the report, she had helped fundraise for his 2014 campaign and placed at least one intern in his office.
Investigators reportedly gave Swalwell a defensive briefing in 2015, and he cut ties with Fang soon after.
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., told "Fox & Friends" that it was time for Swalwell to break his silence and tell the public the truth. Eric Swalwell says he's a victim in all of this. If that's the case what he should do is come forward and have a no-holds-barred press conference and explain exactly what his relationship with this Chinese spy was," Cotton, said.
